Bio

Maura has a Masters in Special Education and started her teaching career as a special education teacher co-teaching 4th graders.  Maura began working for Abisi Adult Education Center while a student at UML back in the 1990’s.  At that time, she registered ESOL students but soon began teaching GED classes on a part-time basis.  In 2011,  Maura accepted a position as a full time teacher and became a co-Lead Teacher for the HSE Program.  She currently teaches STAR classes along with Social Studies and Math classes.  Outside of school, Maura enjoys cooking, taking walks in the woods and spending time along the coast of Maine, with her husband, 4 children, and dog.

Christina Cronin

Bio

Christina has a degree in Biology and a Master’s in Education with certifications in General Science and Middle School Math.  She taught 8th grade science in Danvers for 6 years before having children.  Then in 2005, Chrisitna found an HSE night school teaching position at Abisi Adult Education which eventually bloomed into a full time teaching position where she has been ever since.   Her roles include teaching STAR classes, Math and Science classes, and is a co-Lead Teacher for the HSE Program.  When not teaching, she enjoys time with her husband, children, and dogs especially at Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. 

Karen Greaves

Bio

The SABES ELA C&I PD Center is delighted to welcome Karen Greaves to its team, as instruction and PD specialist. 

Karen comes to us from the Boston Public Schools Department of Adult Education. During her years with BPS she was a program manger, leader for the Instructional Leadership Team DEI implementation, and leader of curriculum development for the Adult Diploma Pathways Program. Her experience also includes coaching and contextualized instruction in the areas of financial literacy and college & career planning, as well as years of teaching in both K–12 English Language Arts and adult basic education. Karen also has training in teaching English as a second language (ESL), sheltered English immersion (SEI), and students with moderate disabilities.
